In today’s episode, I got to polish the elevator pitch of the amazing Ishveen Anand, CEO of OpenSponsorship, the largest marketplace connecting brands to athletes.

The two things I coach people on to help them polish their pitch is to first make it based on pain, because 70% of humans purchase based on pain, and second super-niche your business so the elevator pitch acts as a hook.

Ishveen and I had a conversation around picking one industry that she could grow her market share in, for example fashion apparel. We identified the most expensive problem that she solves for those clients, profitability, and what types of research she could do to clarify this. I demonstrated how case studies can be used to customize her pitch for each channel.

Finally, we discussed the value of trying not to be everything to everyone.

If you thought what Ishveen went through was a great experience, complete the application to be my next guest.
